that they are made of high-quality leather. Shoes fit as expected, straight out of the box. Be aware that the leather is quite tough and you will notice this when you first put them on. Give them some time to spread. Boats are designed to be worn without socks! They need your feet's natural oils to penetrate the skin and tear it apart. After a while they soften up nicely and kind of stick to your leg. Being in the army, my legs are already pretty strong and I've had to break in new boots a number of times. These aren't boots though, so I won't put any special treatment on them to try to speed up the breaking-in process. You can soak them in warm water, put lotion on your feet before you put them on, or whatever, but I would suggest just wearing them as is and giving them time to spread out. If you have sensitive or weak feet, wear a thin sock or bandage your heel to prevent chafing/cutting. All in all great shoes. You look great. You are cozy. And they are built to last.
