This balaclava fits very well. But this is not a "cold" weather mask. Cold weather at its best. I bought it to ride my bike in cold weather. You can definitely feel cold air rushing through the thin material, but that's not a big deal. I would prefer a fleece balaclava. But I wear it with my full face helmet and it helps protect my neck and neck from the cold air. I tried it out this morning with my half helmet in 43 degree weather and it was quite comfortable. I just don't know how much it protects you from the cold on the slopes. For my purposes on cold days, this works great when cycling. This is important in cool and cold weather. I would not wear this alone in temperatures below 35 and strong winds like on slopes or 60 mph on a motorcycle. I must say that this hood protected well from the cold wind. It was about 27 this morning, but the real feeling is about 23. I hit the freeway at about 80 mph and was pleasantly surprised. Keeps my coconut warm. I would rate this 5 stars. Until it appeared before my eyes. After wearing the hood about 5 times I noticed a few scuffs and tears. It doesn't last all winter for me. Such a shame.
