Review on ๐Ÿบ Kegco KC LH-542 Draft Beer Regulator, Chrome: Optimal Performance for Draft Beer Enthusiasts by Barbara Freeman

Worst controller ever!

I'll directly quote another review that explains exactly what happened to me right out of the box. Do yourself a favor and buy something made in the USA for a few dollars more. This thing cost me more CO2 in the first 3 months than I paid for the regulator. To be honest if I could rate this thing negatively I would give it a -10. Review: This regulator will have line pressure creeping in as you use it. But to make matters worse, every time you close and then open a tank valve, the pressure will be very different from when it was last opened. This means you have to adjust the pressure regulator, which is very tight and doesn't have a knob. Every time I use this I have to adjust the pressure with a wrench. So that's a big design flaw - most regulators have a knob, knowing that the pressure needs to be adjusted regularly to match the line. Second, the emergency relief valve will open randomly when the line pressure is well above the line pressure gauge limit. Opening a tank with a 45psi regulator can result in: a) normal operation, b) occasional sloshing of air out of the exhaust valve that sounds like machine gun fire, or c) full release of the valve and hurricane force of the incoming gas directly from the page controller. I can't find any reason for this and the only way out seems to be to turn the pressure valve down to the minimum after each use and then turn it back up to working pressure with each use. ALL WITH A WRENCH, for lack of a decent grip. The product is terrible, just terrible. 110% terrible.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
