Works well, only minor complaints

If you still have a landline this is one of the best phones to connect to. The base station's corded phone works during a power outage; The cordless handset has good reception and sound quality (both better than the Uniden CEZAI 998 DECT system I had previously); the answering machine at the base station is quite easy to use; Small wall power supplies use very little power. My complaints are minor. The cordless extension phone's screen can only display two menu items at a time, and it has two separate buttons instead of a directional pad or an up-down button. together they complicate setup. Also, the battery will drop to one bar in a day if you don't leave it in the charging cradle, and unlike the reviewer who fully charges in 60 minutes, mine takes hours to recharge (but even when charging the charger uses less than 3W, so there's nothing wrong with leaving it in the bassinet). I wish the cordless phone used two regular AAA nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries instead of the expensive nickel metal hydride battery. I wish all electrical products were standardized on micro USB wall warts like cell phones instead of model specific power adapters that get thrown away if the phone breaks.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Dumpy
