There were high expectations but I am very disappointed with the collar

I bought this collar based on the many positive reviews. I have to say I am very disappointed with the collar. For context - my dog is a (25 lb) pug. In order for the alert tone and vibration to activate, the pins on the underside of the collar must be over your dog's throat. My dog keeps shaking his head and then the collar prong moves to the side. Then when my dog barks, the sounds and vibrations will not activate. I even put the collar on the finest setting and my dog barked outside for about 5 minutes and only activated the collar twice; that 5 minutes is hardly enough to trigger vibrations (the collar gives 2 alerts, then the 3rd and each time after that it vibrates on the dog's neck, after a few minutes without barking the collar resets to 2 alerts). Many will say - the solution is to tighten the collar so it doesn't move to the side. Of course you can if you are comfortable with those 2 prongs digging into your dog's throat all day. I didn't want to do it. I intend to correct an annoying habit in my dog. I'm not going to make my dog uncomfortable all day to achieve this. Then what I do to my dog will be worse than what he does to his barking. Also, the collar sometimes beeped when my dog wasn't even barking. I understand that this is most likely because I had the collar at maximum sensitivity, but if I lowered the sensitivity the collar would not work when she actually barked. I'm glad others have had success with this collar. I had very high expectations as my dog barks compulsively. But my experience with this collar has left me more disappointed than before I bought it.
