We have this dog door for our large Akitas. They like that they can hop on and off as they please. However, we live in wonderfully windy Wyoming and the wind keeps opening the hatch and letting cold air in the house. On days that aren't very windy, a dog door will suffice, but since Wyoming winters tend to be windier than not, it's really not for extreme weather. We thought we might need stronger magnets on the valve. We'll try it and see how it goes.
