Apply to slightly damp or dry hair, focusing on the ends. With or without a hair dryer. As I dry and straighten, I apply more to complete the styling. Definitely helps with hobos and flyaways - not heavy or greasy if you follow the directions. I have long thin hair but there is a lot of it. I'm still sticking to the amount recommendations (not increasing) and if you have short or fine hair I would use slightly less than recommended. And I personally love the scent. Knowing that not all fragrances are for everyone, you have to find that part yourself. The scent lingers, but isn't overpowering or harsh.
