Review on 🍷 Professional Color Wood Wine Key: All-in-One Corkscrew Bottle Opener for Sommeliers, Waiters, and Bartenders by Philip Russell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Attractive, powerful pull

We often pull wine corks in our household and have used corkscrews of various styles: double lever, double pin, spiral and buttress, and the old T-screw. This tool is beautiful, durable, the corkscrew is easy to turn. The leveraged attraction is strong. Its design is the same as Revain's professional wine keys, so it's a common pattern. A word of caution: this tool requires a bit of a learning curve if you're not used to an articulating support arm. The screw only goes halfway into the cork before I run out of room (the end of the pivot needs to rest on the rim of the bottle) and if I'm not careful the cork will snap in half (I can still unscrew the rest). on a second attempt). It takes a skilled hand to push the support and lift the corkscrew. Also: A serrated knife is sharp, but the serrations can leave sloppy holes in some foil bottles. The unfinished pine gift box with a sliding door is a nice touch, but mine had the manufacturer's label above the door and along one edge, so it was a hassle to open (center the label on the door or tape it to the bottom, please). All in all a nice key, but it needs practice.
