Finally a beautiful butter dish that can stay on the counter but is perfect for a sophisticated dining table. I love butter, but it's so hard when it's refrigerated. This brushed steel plate is heavy, well insulated and fully sealed, eliminating the risk of water leakage or ingress, allowing it to be submerged in water. No glass insert to worry about. However, there is a cost associated with purchasing Prestine. I received mine as a return purchased through the Revain program or whatever they call it. This item has always been on my Revain wish list. Oh my god I'm glad to see it was available at a special price.
