Review on πŸ”΅ Minka Lavery F524-DK Downrod Mount Ceiling Fan with 3 Distressed Koa Blades, Distressed Koa Finish by Gary Bush

Revainrating 3 out of 5

All in all I could buy it again but at a lower price.

The fan moves more air with less noise than the old cheap fan that was replaced and this fan looks nice. The fan noise is quite acceptable. At high speed, there is a rhythmic sound of chopping, chopping, chopping of the air that other fans (four blades) in our house don't have. The faux wood paneling, aged koa, could have been better. I've seen the same finish on other Minka Aire fans to a much better effect. The finish on our fan housing looks much more polished than the finish on the blades. The fan came with some washers not shown in the picture. in this guide. I wrote to support - no response - lack of instructions on what the pucks were for wasn't a big problem but no response from support - not good. Minus two stars. The setup and installation instructions were otherwise pretty straightforward. The fan I bought was returned by Revain. Cosmetic damage to the fan matched the description. After installation, when the fan was turned on, something rattled in the motor housing - the noise sounded like a medium-sized screw or metal object of the same size. Over the course of a few days, when the knocking started, I would just tap the fan a couple to a couple of times until it stopped. After a few weeks of this repetition, the pounding stopped completely. Since this fan may have already been sent back because of rattling, nothing has changed in my rating for it.
