Removing the card backlight is a bit difficult. I used a strip of duct tape, wrapped it around the stock card lights, and then pulled it vertically. I blew a 7.5A fuse when installing the dome light :P During installation the headlights were off and the battery was disconnected. When turned on, all the lights in the cabin went out and would not come on. Replacing the fuse is easy. There is white plastic trim on the left side of the driver's footwell. Simply remove them, refer to the diagram printed on the cover to find the location of the dome lock. There is a tool in the fuse box in the Tacoma's engine compartment to pull them out. Keep a few spare 7.5A fuses handy, because if you misalign the polarity on the dome, your fuse will be goodbye. 50/50 chance. Oh, and also make sure you buy low profile mini fuses as regular mini fuses stick out and won't let you put the cover back on. But if it's an emergency, normal mini fuses will do. , there is no doubt about it.
