This set of knives not only looks 'sharp' (haha), it's also very good quality. The knife block is made of heavy solid wood, beautifully finished and sealed without splinters. All knives are solid, made of solid metal, well balanced and comfortable to hold. The whole set came well packaged with pre-sharpened knives. Kitchen scissors are disassembled for cleaning, which is very convenient. While my husband usually prefers his Kyocera ceramic chef's knives, sometimes you need metal knives and he is pleased with their sharpness and overall quality. Also, our 12 year old put a bunch of knives in the dishwasher (oops) but they came out unscathed (not that I recommend this for regular cleaning). Overall this is a quality, attractive and durable set of knives. I would order them again at any time and can only recommend this set.
