Review on Comfort Spaces Reversible Set Double Lightweight Bedding by Carlos Alston

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Oddly high quality for the price; the time will show. Fictional "5 "

Our Navy family had to move to a small bedroom ranchette in 1953, in part because my husband and I had progressed from our beloved California king to queen by a margin of Customs service. We weren't thrilled about buying all the new beds and linens and wanted to save money. For months we contemplated spending $$$ on heavy Matelass quilts we bought from another expensive store, but we couldn't bring ourselves to do it. We've made up with microfiber (shudder), but we keep coming back to it. I'm very suspicious of cheap offshore crap because you're a fool if you don't think you'll ever get robbed. But even I, one of the most suspicious people in the world, started to think everything might be fine after reading all the reviewers' profiles of their other reviews and seeing the photos. Either that or these guys are better scammers than the ones who faked the moon landing. (Just kidding guys.) So $30 vs a few hundred, what a hey. So far, so good. Allegedly cotton front, lined polyester, with cotton/PE filling. I'm surprised to see that the back is polyester because it's not shiny, smooth, or plasticky at all. You might be able to see some of the texture if you zoom in on one of my photos (the polyester backing is the solid turquoise part). I'm surprised to see there's any padding at all because it's so light, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just the front and back sewn together with nothing in between. We don't care about that part though; Just looking for something to complete our bed without looking for a weighed down feeling or a lot of warmth. Colors are beautiful - true celadon or "bondy blue" - with accent colors of deep, warm charcoal (like dark gray with hints of warm brown tint), off-white, and pleasing citrus green-yellow. . I took a close look at the stitching - well coached by my sewing grandmother - and photographed the two protruding threads I saw, one along the edge and one in the middle. Don't worry. . . a while . . . until I develop much more. The seams are even, the dimensions are correct, including pads that fit standard pillows. The final and biggest test will be the laundry and I'll update my post when that happens. I prepared for the worst! Because otherwise it's great. I don't know if this is a new company and trying to increase its volume at a low cost and prices will go up later, or if they just run the cheapest sweatshop in the world (which unfortunately is another story). . But so far this ceiling and sham has been laid down by the rocks. It remains only to understand how to upload photos.
