I have used this product on pine floors and it works great. Kona Brown is more of a purple brown/aubergine. The first layer looks like you used icing instead of paint, so don't be surprised if you end up using 2-4 thin layers. But tell you what, for crappy looking pine floors it seals the wood surprisingly well and holds up to heavy use too. It is a great alternative to stripping and painting floors. The attached photos are of a B&B I once owned and it held up very well to heavy foot traffic (ie guests on the floor), all floors were painted Kona Brown. In an ideal world I would probably sand/prep the floors but I'm lazy-LOL. I just washed and vacuumed the floor and it worked great. It has almost no smell and it rolls very well. My only criticism is that this particular paint doesn't come in gallons, only litres. So you end up with a little more than what you would pay for other colors.
