This definitely does the job. My only issue with it is that it's bulky. The cord doesn't fold properly, so I had a hard time hiding it in an open space next to our power outlet for our outdoor decorations. (Note: our output is also slightly higher, so things tend to stick out more). Longevity is where I think this product wins. We had the lights on for most of the winter, through snow, wind, ice, whatever, and the cord was still going strong. If you need something strong, this is your choice.
