Review on Beadalon Artistic Nylon Wire Straightener Tool - 228S-420 with 3 Rollers: Effective Wire Straightening Solution by Sasha Hsiao

handy tool for beginners

I'm just getting started with wire. I don't keep everything I make (some of them aren't great) but it seemed silly to throw away the wire when I could reuse it. (For the record, right now I mostly use "Artistic Wire", which is the color coated wire it was designed for, since I bought it to start with. I've only tried this with 20 gauge wire. I probably will it's harder to work with thinner calibers, and I'm not planning on making the move to gold or silver just yet.) In any case, pretty much everything you need to know about how this thing works can be seen in the photo inset of Women's Hands You in the image goods. It is really that easy. Insert the wire, close the two outer rollers, keep the device closed and pull the wire through. I like that the wheels are nylon; They really help prevent color from appearing on my wire. So far I haven't messed up the nylon while working. It's lightweight and suitable for people with small hands (which I definitely have). I don't think it takes too much strength. It doesn't always get the 100% smoothness I want, but it's pretty good and I can usually fix it by going a second time and/or working locally with nylon-tipped pliers. This saves a lot of time compared to trying to straighten the wire with pliers; it's just easier to hold and hold in place.
