This was necessary because our remote control was defective and the battery compartment could not be closed. This case keeps it closed so well you won't even notice it's broken. We have young children in the house so it was important to us to keep all batteries out of our reach, making this item a safe solution for our home! I really like this shade of blue, it's not that bright when it glows in the dark, the picture I posted showed how well it glowed after being flashed with light, but our living room is usually pretty dark, so glow he never in the dark. Regardless, it's pretty blue and it's still a great piece! It's durable, the only one we had a few years ago broke easily where the leash was supposed to attach. This time we decided not to add a leash to avoid tears. Would be a great addition but just doesn't work as the leash just ties and stretches to the material instead of clinging to the remote itself.
