Put the smooth side not the fluffy side, best for reptiles.
I don't know if you can see inside the cage, but the carpet in each "room" is wall to wall. One thing I didn't think of is that of course there are 2 sides and one is soft and the other not so soft. Therefore, to make my bearded dragons comfortable, I put the soft side wrong, their claws got stuck in the carpet, so I advise everyone to use the smooth side.
