It was much thinner and narrower for our bearded dragon tank. Thus the carpet did not cover about half an inch. All in all it was a good deal.

The carpet is excellent, although the width was not enough for a full tank. It was quite long, but we had about 3 inches of overhang from the tank due to the width. Otherwise a great product so far

Please check your tank, it is not rated for 40 gallons. 40 gallons is 35.5 L x 17.5 Sh. So it won't cover your entire aquarium unless you buy two! I wish I could pay attention to the dimensions, not just the fact that it says 40 gallons!

I bought this from Zoo Med for my 120 gallon terrarium but it was too small. I figured since I'm buying the same brand of carpet as my terrarium it would work. The rug itself seemed well made so I gave it three stars instead of two. I returned it and bought a Zilla rug and it fits perfectly.

I bought this because it was cheap and I wanted to switch between two different carpets in my bearded dragon enclosure. But this one won't fit in a 40-gallon tank. I should have measured first but mine was dirty and I added some tiles to my aquarium to keep nails away. So I cut it up and made it work, but I need to find another one that actually fits because washing this one would be a joke given the way I cut it.

I saw a brown carpet in the photo and a statement that these are "40 gallon tanks". Turns out I got an ugly green carpet and it was too narrow for my 40 gallon tank. I've looked at all the 40 gallon aquariums at the pet store and they are all 16 inches deep (or more). This rug is 15 inches wide so there is a gap where the glass can be seen from the front or back. I am very upset and disappointed. I pre-purchased this insert to fit my 40 gallon terrarium when my bearded dragon was big enough to move into my 40 gallon terrarium. When setting up a 40 gallon terrarium for my beard NOW, I find that the liner doesn't even fit. IT IS EXTREMELY SMALL. I don't know what 40 gallon it fits in, but my terrarium and liner are the same manufacturer. What makes me even more frustrated is that I can't even return it because it's been over 30 days. I use eco rug for my 16 year old gecko. I've never had a problem with rugs and order a new one every 6 months, but it's easy to clean and I'm sure you can have the same rug for a few years. Its appearance is simple, but you can do a lot with it. I only use it for my leopard gecko because I have other animals in natural bioactive enclosures but that's just my preference but it's by far the easiest substrate I have.
