Review on πŸ” Explore the Kreg SK03 Pocket Hole Screw Sizes - Enhancing Your Woodworking Experience! by Greg Roberts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Large range - this is what you get

What's in the box: NOTE. According to the product description, the screws come in "five sizes". That's a bit misleading; Looks like you're getting five different lengths. You actually only get THREE lengths (for three stock sizes); two lengths are available with both regular and fine thread. So you get five varieties, but only three lengths. Coarse threads are designed to work with soft woods (pine, including hemlock, MDF, chipboard, etc.). The fine thread is for hardwood (maple, oak, etc.). For 3/4" stem, 1.25" long screws, shiny finish: - 150# SML-F125, #7 Maxi-Loc shaft, fine thread, for 3/4" solid material - 150# SML-C125, head #8 Maxi-Loc shank, lead threads, for 3/4" soft shank For 1/2" shank, 1" long screws, polished finish:- 150# SPS-F1, flat head, #8 shank 6, Fine Thread, 1/2" Hard Shank - 150# SPS-C1, Flat Head, #7 Shank, Lead Thread, 1/2" Soft Shank, 1.5" (two to inch) Shank, 2, 5 " Long Bolts, Blue Kote Finish:- 75# SML-C250B, Maxi-Loc Head, #8 Shank, Pilot Threads, For Soft Material 1.5" Maxi-Loc heads have an integral "washer ", which increases the surface area compared to the flat-head variant. All screws use the same square-bit screwdriver. "Blank" plating means electro-galvanizing. This coating does not withstand prolonged exposure to adverse weather conditions. The surface (only used with 1.5 inch screws used) is weatherproof. As the name suggests, these screws are blue. The case is solid and built to last for years and REALLY adds value to the kit. The locking tabs are good and tight - if you drop the case it's unlikely to pop open and mess up the screws on the bottom. My only complaint is that there is no way to hold a square bit in the body. A "bit tray" would have made it a little more useful (and the included bit even more - an extra bit would be nice insurance). Kreg OEM bolts are of the highest quality. You should always set the drill collar to a reasonable torque (not much more than what your stock should be), but you probably won't loosen the head of these screws or cut out a square if your collar is too tight. I'm going to buy some thinner screws for a 3/4" hardstock, which is my most common requirement. I'll need the other screws much less often, but if you need an unusual screw it's a shame not to have one. . The set does not include screws for REALLY unusual workpiece sizes (how many people actually use a 1" workpiece?). This is a good and generous range of quality screws for the most common sizes of work pieces used in joinery. Excellent price. (If you found my review helpful, please like it. Thank you!)
