They appear to be made of durable plastic or acrylic. They're about a quarter inch thick and don't flex when the controller is placed on top of them. I tried to bend it with light pressure. The only moving part is the V-shaped part that is attached to the wall. It would be hard to break under normal use. Seems durable. Glossy black finish. The kit also includes a pair of cable management clips and four 3M adhesive squares. The adhesive is not yet attached to the brackets. Instead, apply them yourself. I like this option because it allows the consumer to use a different method of attachment if they wish. Personally, I won't be using the supplied sticky squares because I think they can damage the paintwork if I ever have to remove them. Instead, I attach a Command brand Velcro for easy removal and repositioning. My Nvidia Shield TV game controllers and my Xbox One S controllers fit perfectly in this mount. They don't slide in one direction or the other. This is a great option. There are two things I dislike about this subject. First, it's a fingerprint magnet. As soon as you touch it you will see how dirty it looks. It rubs off easily to a clean, shiny surface, but it's a headache. I also don't like the big white logo on the front of the product. I had hoped, it would be a removable sticker, but it's actually painted on. To fix both of these shortcomings, I'm going to paint my fixtures a matte white (fingerprints won't be visible as they hide the logo and match my room better). I'm happy with this purchase and glad I didn't pay too much for "famous brands" mounts that are almost double the price.
