Review on Magicfly Painting Adjustable Drawer,5 Palette,Beechwood by Carla Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Solidly built. I love this

I use it for watercolor painting at home. I wanted a slanted board so the strokes move across the page mainly by gravity and I can just push the waterdrop with my brush. The thing is solidly built. The drawer might need some wax, but it pulls and pulls out until I reach it. The wood is finished and well fitted. The small rubber pieces on the underside are screwed on. I don't use any of their extras - the canvases, palette and inkwells are just set aside and I'll probably give them away. But this easel is amazing. It's big enough for my daily use (assuming I take small photos, 9x12 or smaller). And it's pretty compact. so I can take it with me on my trip. Edit (May 2020) to add that I now use canvases to prevent my watercolor paper from curling. These are 9x12 canvases mounted on heavy duty card stock. I tape my watercolor paper to them and use them to hold the paper flat while I paint (and while it dries). To do this I use Frog tape and first wipe the sticky side of the tape with a damp cloth. This allows the tape to come off cleanly if I remove it within a day or two. (If I don't wipe it down with a damp cloth first, the tape will tear the paper.) It's MUCH cheaper than art tape. I stick watercolor paper on it and use it, to keep the paper flat while painting (and while it dries). To do this I use Frog tape and first wipe the sticky side of the tape with a damp cloth.
