The best part is that it does all of these things at once - load balancing traffic to different services (eg video chat), auto failover if one service goes down or gets oversubscribed.
Also works well with our SIP PBX system which can be used as softphones when connecting via PSTN/ISDN/Voip links. This solution was introduced in order to solve some issues we were having before with using multiple servers / IP addresses but not being able to keep more users connected than available server resources could handle.
