I got this as a gift for my nephew. Let me tell you, he was super excited to recieve it! He's 4 years old, and while the age is 4-12, I'd say it's probably best for a tall 4 year old. My nephew is pretty short for his age so it made the pedaling a challenge at first. But like most boys determined to play, he figured out how to make it work. So if your child is a small 4, you may want to wait until he's 5. Other than that, the ride does not disappoint. Definitely worth the money considering how many hours of fun your child will have with this pedal ride.
