About 5 years ago, I began utilizing these mice. I owned a triad. The original X-710FS, in which the wheel failed after only six months but else functioned flawlessly. The wheels failed on both of my X-750s. After a year, A4Tech introduced the X-710MK with a steering wheel. So I went ahead and bought 718, which is actually the worst of the A4 mice. Brought it home, replaced the 710, and it worked fine on a standard tabletop, but the wheel had some issues. Consequently, the new one wobbles and the pointer flickers, as if I had purchased low-quality goods for $9. The hole seems to have shrunk by a factor of three since the laser system was last updated. The plan is to return it to the retailer in the hopes of exchanging it for an F5 laser the following day. I was under the impression that a cutting-edge optical mouse wouldn't give way to a laser mouse.
