Surprisingly Good Best Infrared Thermometer

I bought this unit in a gold box box for a little over half the current price in September 2013, about sixty two dollars, something to keep in mind. .It replaced another unit that had not survived the recent move and was difficult to operate. Used to detect heat leaks in a house, finds cold/hot leaks around windows, doors etc fairly quickly. Of course the closer you get to the area to be checked this is great for finding really small leaks. His instructions are reasonable, not so detailed that you have to shake your head and not so sparse that you don't have a key. It came with a 9 volt battery installed which surprised me, unboxed it, pulled the trigger and started testing. To be honest I have no idea how accurate it is in its measurements but it is within a few degrees on a pot of boiling water and that was good enough for my purposes. For the price I paid for it, it will more than pay for itself. with some properly applied sealant, replacing door panels, slightly slipped insulation, etc.
