I bought this because my cat jumped on my old flat screen TV which was heavier and a bit thicker. She likes to sit there because there is a window right behind her that gives her a different perspective. Generally this wasn't a problem until that TV died and I bought a new 4K Smart TV that weighs 1/4 the weight of the previous TV and is thinner. She knocked over the new TV several times and after installing the TV mount, the TV is still on the window. I can move the TV away from the window but this screen protector gives me peace of mind that it won't break the TV screen. when he decides to jump on him again. Another reviewer also said it should have enough velcro, to secure the underside of this guard - it does. It was easy to install and didn't require 2 people to complete the installation. No noticeable glare but the nearest light in my attic is 10 feet away. I am very happy with it as it will protect my new TV from kitty.
