I suspect many hobby mechanics use this pump to fill transmissions and differentials. I used it to fill an automatic transmission, so my rating is for ATF, which is thinner than many lubes used in manual transmissions and differentials. PROS: Works great. no leaking Large pump volume for fast filling The tip is nicely designed to stay in the filling hole without falling out. If you have to make a 180 degree turn to get to the filler hole, it will most likely snap off, making pumping difficult and slower. I had to put my hand in and hold the hose to keep it from bending. Recommend a better hose.- The suction hose only fits the pump a short distance and mine fell off the pump twice. Pulling it out of the ATF bottle wasn't much fun (a clean 4-prong flexible grip would pull it out without spilling the bottle). Recommend the best connection here. ABOUT THE COVER/ADAPTER. It would be difficult for Pete to include adapters for every bottle opening size (and there are many). But it's very easy to do it yourself. I took one of my ATF caps and cut a hole in it, using the adapter that came with it as a template for the hole size. Did.
