Working with Windows 10

Working with Windows 10 here. Here's the method I used: DRIVER INSTALLATION0) don't connect yet1) Go to the Asus USB-BT400 website to download the latest drivers (updated 4/20/2016) - do so as you can't vouch for the date /version that on disk. 2) Click Support 3) Click Drivers & Tools 4) Select your operating system and download the ZIP file by clicking Global (18MB) 5) Unzip the file (now 45MB unzipped ) and open the folder until you see 2 folders - "Drivers" and "Installer" 6) Open the "Installer" folder and click on the "Install" application (not the configuration file of the same name) 7) After successful installation, reboot start8) Plug in (sticks out 9mm as shown in 9) At this point Windows gave me some confusing messages (below), but stay tuned: -- "The last USB device you plugged into this computer , is defective and Windows does not recognize it." [pop-up window] -- "USB device not recognized. The last USB device connected to this computer is defective and is not recognized by Windows". [Support Center Message] These messages were probably generated because an attempt was made to automatically install the drivers when I already had them installed. 10) I have decided to disconnect all non-essential USB devices (everything except keyboard and mouse) and move the Asus USB-BT400 to a new USB port (USB pass-through on a Corsair Strate keyboard), and then it just worked, presumably because Windows now considers it an old device, not a new one. BLUETOOTH PAIRING1) Go to Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth and turn it on if it's not already on. 2) Pair it with your device. The instructions here will vary slightly depending on the device you are using. I've paired my Microsoft Lumia 640 and Creative SoundBlaster Jam headphones with no issues. SOUND. If you have successfully connected to your headphones but still can't hear anything, try the following: 1) Right-click the volume icon in the taskbar, select Playback Devices and make sure your headphones are selected as the default device by right clicking Click and select "Set as default device" 2) When you are finished but there is still no sound, try closing the application/game you are in and reset the in-game sound to something else and then back to headphones - both worked for me. RANGE With Bluetooth headphones, I could hear up to 25 feet (15 paces) from the transmitter. Device discount (38% discount) until the end of 01/2017.
