Review on TOOLIOM Welder Voltage Welding Machine by Daniel Morris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good machine for beginners 3-1

Media could not be loaded. I originally got this welder as a flux cored unit but wanted a gas shielded pole option if I ever plan to go down that route. I am by no means a professional with many years of experience behind me. I'm just a beginner looking to build my own welding table and maybe get enough skills to weld a motorcycle frame. So I did a lot of research on what type of welder to buy. I've had a specialized cored wire welding machine in the past that was less than a few hundred, they were welding but the digital part of the machine was starting to wobble so I had to go back. As for this device, it seems to be pretty stable so far. This allows you to adjust the inductance of the device. I think it's available on more expensive models from other manufacturers like Lincoln/Miller and the like. Now, this is a Chinese device - like most things we buy these days - but the components included in this price range made me buy it anyway. In particular, a wire feeder with a metal spool, which according to my research will cost significantly more. Also, both the base and torch are the same length - about 10ft - other welders I've bought came with a 3ft base and a 5ft torch. The case is a combination of metal and plastic, a typical but not critical solution. This also holds a 10lb spool which I wanted to save money on when I found the right wire which I like to use. The ground clamp is a bit wobbly but not bad, I would also swap it for a clamp with more clamping force. It welds well with Lincoln 211 wire - in my opinion - at 126 volts and normal wire speed setting. I don't even bother with the wire that comes with it because it's mostly pure junk with lots of spatter. I also have a Yes E71TGS that I would like to try on this machine. So, in my opinion, this device will be enough for a beginner. It has many features to play with, as well as the ability to use other welding modes. At this price it's not too bad, got it when Amazon had an online voucher and spent it just over 2 bills. If you're new and know you just want to get into FCAW welding, you might be better off considering $99 units, but if you're just starting out and want to try other forms of welding without multiple Buying equipment, this machine might be the one for you. Also, I canceled this order several times in the beginning because they delayed my delivery twice and was very upset that the seller didn't respond, but I'm glad I received it anyway. Finally, vendors should really offer TIG torch compatibility options so consumers can find what to buy for that device if they want to.

Pros
  • Powerful machine: up to 200 amps of power, allows welding of sheet metal up to 4.0 mm (5/32 inch) thick.
Cons
  • Long delivery
