Bought as a gift from mother in law, she said the clamp works well. Unfortunately, the plastic part at the end of the curling iron seems to be smaller/shorter than other curling irons she's used. The biggest problem she had with this particular straightener was that even at the lowest temperature of 200 degrees, it burned the ends of her hair. She has fairly healthy hair and she has curled it with a flat iron for a long time. She just wanted a new curling iron because the clip on her old curling iron stopped working properly. But it doesn't seem to matter what temperature she uses, her tips burn after each use. She can't keep using this special straightener if she doesn't want to keep losing length and damaging her hair.
