I'm pretty sure they sent me a used curling iron. It was dirty, the hinges creaked and "twitched" with use. That might not be the right description, but when you open or close the iron, it gets stuck halfway. Then after it was really closed it wasn't tight enough and the hair just slipped out. Not sure if this is FHI, the seller or just this product. I'm almost 100% sure they sent a used unit.

I'm pretty sure this has been used. There are some things stuck to it and small scratches that you would not expect on a brand new item. Not a big deal so after cleaning I gave it a try anyway and everything seems to be working fine. Heats up quickly and the heat stays constant. To be honest I wish I had just ordered through the company's website so I was confident I was getting a brand new one and had no doubts about what I had opened.
