This is a nice little ice tray. I've used it many times and it works great. The only real issues I've encountered so far are: - shot glasses are difficult to demould, and - even with distilled water, shot glasses don't come out perfectly. These are large bumps that form on the inside of an ice stack. I'm not sure if it's because the water in the mold expands when it freezes, or if some of the gas dissolved in the water is trying to escape and causing bubbles. found a workaround for . I filled these shot glass molds half full (relative to the overall height of the mold) and let the water freeze, then filled the rest of the mold and froze the rest of the shot glass. This seems to smooth out some of the large bumps that form on the inside of the glass. When using these shot glasses, it's best to use chilled alcohol, as alcohol obviously melts through shot glasses much faster at room temperature. I've found these shots with ice make handy little instant jiggers. I typically place a shot glass with ice in my whiskey glass, fill it with my favorite spirit, and then use a blender to fill the rest of my whiskey glass. However, I usually overfill the jigger with alcohol because I like stronger drinks, but it still works.
