At first I had doubts. But the first thing that struck me was that they were bigger than I first thought. They really helped and I was surprised at how good my fingers felt during and after use. I have mild arthritis in my hands and work on the computer all day. I never thought that a finger massage could help so much. In terms of strength, they're a nice hard plastic, flexible enough to be opened and closed with your fingers. I'm afraid of breaking, hence 4 stars for reliability. Apart from this great product.
