I've read negative reviews and I don't understand - either the fabric isn't compatible, or the batch is defective, or they didn't follow the instructions. We've been using it for 5 years and have never peeled off, wash after wash. They are quite thin, but more robust than denim - on a thin fabric you can see the contours of the patch. I also used them on new pants to keep my son from rubbing his knees. Here are more detailed instructions than on the box: 1. Make sure your fabric can withstand the highest ironing temperatures2. Wash your clothes before applying the patch3. Round off the corners of the patch with scissors. When patching a hole, the patch should extend beyond the unworn fabric4. Use the highest ironing temperature without steam5. Pre-iron the fabric to be patched6. Place the patch shiny side down7. When you cover the hole, put a piece of unwanted fabric on the back8. Press firmly for 60 seconds for a 4x4 patch, 2 minutes for a 4x8 patch, etc.9. Repeat pressing on all edges10. Click one last time
