Norpro White French Bean Slicer

Slicer was received from Revain at the right time. A few years ago we bought a thin planer that looked like this but after many years of good use the blades are double and you can't sharpen them so they need to be replaced. There is a large quantity of green beans growing in our garden at the moment and my wife is happy to save them for future use and feeding. We like to cut them before canning, so we like to take the extra time and effort to cut and stuff them before going into the canning process for storage. I just picked out two large 5 gallon buckets of good green beans and the new slicer arrived just in time. As soon as I took out the packet, I started slicing the beans in French. NOT RIGHT! When I tried to put the first few beans through this Norpro slicer it was very, very difficult to put the beans through and the beans would get stuck and make a messy cut and I had to scoop out the bean puree that was trapped between the dual cutter blades was left behind. My wife also tried her luck and ended up being just as upset as I was. This slicer was WAY overpriced and a worthless piece of junk! I contacted Revain and asked for a refund which they approved and allowed us to return it after payment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE!
