The lock cools down quickly and when it does the tool will snap and that's it. Sure, it's a little annoying to heat up a lock, but once I've installed a lock, I want it to stay in place for years. So for $8 per $100, heating the locks before installation isn't a big deal. This works great for me. But if you move your tools around a lot and install a lot of locks each year, you might want to look elsewhere.
