Review on 🚲 Thule Yepp Maxi: Rack Mount Child Bike Seat - Safe & Secure Riding Experience by Ada Atusia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, did not expect at all for the price.

1. When attaching the chair to the frame, be sure to fully insert the seatpost down (i. E. lower the saddle). Once I overdid it and the mount slightly crushed the aluminum frame and now the saddle does not fall below the mount. 2. I always check where the child's head "flies" during heavy braking, it is important that it is not in the seat. It is necessary that in the lower back. If I'm traveling with a child, I lower the seat lower. Yes, the seat belts can be pulled tighter. - The rear position of the chair is much more convenient than on the frame in front of you. Most importantly, the child is protected from headwinds and dust, his weight does not interfere with precise control of the bike. What he does not see ahead, he will perfectly consider on the sides.

Pros
  • I like the chair very much. I have been using them for 3 years. In the summer every day I ride with a child up to 1.5 hours. Comfortable, beautiful, creates a feeling of a quality thing. The seat can be removed, leaving only the mount on the bike. Perfectly absorbs small bumps and small curbs. I have been driving my children since the age of 10 months (at the beginning no more than 15 minutes) - since they can sit. And you can continue to carry up to 22 kg (in the region of 5-6 years!).
Cons
  • 1. In reviews on foreign sites they write that the chair may not fit all frames. I have attached it to 3 different bikes and they all fit. It should definitely fit the MTBs that are common with us 2. The mount itself is very thick and can get in the way of the forward shift cable if it goes outside the tube. There is a special adapter on the yepp website. But in 2022, I could not get one. Now the cable slightly touches the rubber bands - not critical for switching.
