I myself have been doing semi-professional photography for about 5 years. A year ago, I switched to 2 lenses of different ranges (wide / portrait + telephoto). Such a combination is, of course, much higher than 18-200 in quality (and I'm not going to sell it), BUT! only for unhurried, pre-planned shooting. As soon as it comes to reportage and other diverse shooting in nature, on trips, at competitions that happen to me with enviable regularity at work, the process of photographing turns into an equilibrium of “have time to shoot a frame by changing a lens in 10 seconds”. At the same time, not to drop something and not to pick up dust in the carcass is not a trivial task. I decided for myself that a number of shortcomings in the optics of the subject I can quite fix with software. But it is difficult to return the lost frames and damaged equipment (I am silent about the nerves), especially in the absence of a normal photographic equipment service, as in our city.
