This is a professional barcode reader that is easy to use and easy to program. Some great features: • Long battery life. Can be used for many hours without charging. • Rechargeable. Comes with a charging station. • Programmable. I can adjust the baud rate, hide characters from barcodes, add a prefix/suffix to scanned codes, etc. • Multiple connection modes. The connection can be made via dongle, cable or Bluetooth. • Scanned codes can be stored in the reader and then downloaded in batch mode or scanned directly. I use this to catalog my DVD collection. I have cataloging software and just point the barcode scanner at the DVD barcode, press the trigger and it's in my collection list. This scanner makes it so easy. This barcode reader can be connected to my phone and used to compare prices when shopping in stores or when looking for a replacement online. I can use it to scan 2D barcodes to access data like support sites, app downloads, etc. I'm sure the manufacturer intended this product for inventory or warehousing. But for less than $60, this is a great personal barcode reader. I am happy that it is now part of my tools.
