Review on EPAX E6 Printer: Cutting-edge Photocuring Monochrome Technology by Brent Henderson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Disappointing quality control and extensive initial repairs.

I have been looking for a quality machine to work with my Elegoo Mars Pro and have always found the Epax to be one of the best mid-range entry-level consumer printers. They are known for their excellent customer service. Upon opening the box, I immediately noticed that the vat I was sent had a crack. I'm sure a little glue would be in order, and at this point I was ready to ignore the issue. After setting up the device, I turned it on to make sure the screen was working properly. I noticed raised grid lines and a 5mm gap at the bottom of the screen that wasn't illuminated. The array appears to have been hit hard enough to knock it out of alignment. Invalid for new device. I removed the sidebar to see if I could reposition it easily, but found I had to remove quite a few components to get there. Looking at the array, I noticed dust, dirt, and fingerprints on the bottom of the screen and confirmed that they could be seen through the top of the LCD. All in all I was seriously frustrated but wanted to see how the support team handled it. That. I have sent an E-Mail. It's been 5 days and I finally got a reply email saying they will be replacing the device. Although it took a little longer to reply, at least they would have been happy to have a replacement. So I did a little more research and found that other people were having the same problem with grid lines and would require an extensive diffuser installation process. (Not installed on them initially.) At this point I decided to just return the device. I have to return it, wait for a replacement, wait for the parts and install the diffuser before it's even possible to add resin. Given the complaints I've seen of having to take the block apart to install parts and get the block to the condition I was in, I didn't want to deal with the hassle. I got a lemon, and the obligatory repair of the diffuser before use makes it impossible. I expected more from Epax and was dying to like this device. At least it should have been on par with my Mars Pro, but it isn't. It seems that these new units don't have the same build quality as their earlier models. upset. 2 stars for customer service willing to replace it.
