I just kind of wanted to check the pool temperature without going out in the hot Vegas sun during the day and that's it! I've had the Yolink water leak sensors for a few months now and I'm very impressed with them, especially the long battery life and very long range. I knew any Bluetooth or WiFi device would likely be unreliable due to the added distance from the pool to the house, not to mention the fact that the pool is at ground level. So I've been waiting for Yolink to release this device, I saw that it will appear on the site soon. I knew Yolink's LoRa technology would work well for this outdoor device, and of course it does. One thing I noticed is that it only seems to be taking readings once an hour. Pools take a long time to heat up or cool down, so that's not a problem, at least for my application. But maybe this is something they will make customizable with a software update in the future. I also like that it shows the temperature over time so you can see the history. You can even download all readings as a CSV file. Data scientists rejoice!
