Nice cognac/brandy glasses but too big

I love Schott Zwiesel glasses in general so I went with them when I wanted new, more elegant cognac glasses. My husband and I discussed whether they were the right size before purchasing. While you can only pour a few ounces into one of these, you'll need plenty of room for the bouquet to fill the snifter, but the nearly 21-ounce size seemed huge — and they are. For me, as a woman with small hands, they are too big because they are not very comfortable in the hand. My husband, on the other hand, thinks it's perfect. We decided to keep them because 1. too big is better than too small and 2. they are great. The semi-sharp angle between the bottom of the glass, where the cognac sits, and the top is a little unusual for a glass like this, but we love that touch. We don't wash our beautiful glassware in the dishwasher so I can't comment on how well they handle this harsh environment. Our other Schott Zwiesel glasses look like new despite years of hand washing. Although a thin crystal is stronger than you think, it can still break. After all, people buy them because of the transparent thin crystal. A thicker glass goblet would be stronger but not as elegant. – Debbie Lee Wesselman.
