Update: Alexa seems to be working now (instructions) Update 8/5/2017: Broadlink customer support is very slow to respond to my emails and seems to be with google Translate because their sentences make little sense. Anyway, they said Alexa should work in the US now. I still couldn't get it to work so I did the following: 1. Use the PIN and hard reset the device. Hold the pen until the blue light flashes quickly.2. Only use the IHC application. Add a new device to your "home". For me it overwrote the old device and I lost all my saved remotes.3. (Re-program) your remotes.4. Go to the Alexa app, remove any non-working devices and disable Broadlink.5 skills. Re-enable the Broadlink Smart Home skill, and then scan for new devices. Now they should work. Complaint: Alexa can now turn my TV on and off, but no other commands work. The app lets me turn up the volume and do anything the remote can do, but when I tell Alexa to do anything other than turn it on and off, it says OK and the RM Mini flashes (meaning it's having a command received), but nothing does not happen. .———— Update: I was informed by Broadlink Customer Support that requests from Alexa and Google Assistant have stopped working due to GPDR. I read somewhere that if you set up a device before May 25th 2018 it will still work, but if it's a new purchase don't expect it to work. After that date, only read reviews if you want to know what's really going on with voice control. I'll update the review when this gets fixed.——— The IHC app is a bit poorly written, but it works if you spend enough time with it. I can control my devices from anywhere over the cellular network. The problem is that the Alexa skill finds all devices but cannot connect. When I ask Alexa to turn on the TV, it says "TV is not responding". None of my many devices respond even after deleting and re-adding the skill, devices, restarting the Wi-Fi network and everything else. Very frustrating. Alexa works great with my other home automation devices and cameras.
