After about 50 miles for the first few or weeks, the sole still looks new but seems to contain a lot of small stones. They seem to last a very long time and continue to feel comfortable and supportive. The insole and arch support were pretty light so I put something better in, but this makes the shoes a little tight for me, I wish I had ordered half a size up. The lacing system is standard old school, so not a pointe shoe, but a good shoe to get to know the New Balance brand.
