I wanted to increase the fan blades from 42" to 52" in hopes that it would improve airflow in my office. Drill holes for your existing fan blades, and if they don't, this is a very easy modification for anyone who can DIY with a drill and a 1/4" bit. Simply store a brand new set of fan blades in the original packaging - do not unpack; Remove one blade from the existing fan and install firmly over the new set of blades (still packaged), lining up the center hole; I put a nut and bolt in the holes to keep them aligned. Then simply drill two additional holes and use the existing holes as guides for the five new blades. The new holes should match the existing fan blades perfectly. This will be a five minute operation. Five stars!
