I bought this wireless router to upgrade my existing FIOS wireless modem. The FIOS modem is at the other end of the house and I placed NetGear in the middle of the house. I get higher Wi-Fi levels from a FIOS modem than from NetGear. Sometimes 2-3 bars higher. I have two laptops and a bridge router that I used to measure levels. The bridge is also dual band and I had low levels on both bands. The signal on the 5GHz band was lower than the 2.4GHz band, although there is less interference on the 5GHz band in my house. So if you're looking for something to expand or enhance your wireless network, this product isn't for you.
