Not very good. Too expensive

Router died after 6 months. Used the warranty and got a new one. Tech support kept asking me if I used the online features there to resolve the issue. My reply was "I would if I could get online." They sent me another one and it died after 7 months and my warranty had expired by that time. The router could not keep the IP address from the provider. Signal strength was okay at best, but I was never able to connect to the internet because the IP address never got updated, even when I updated it…

Wow! surprised! in routers

First time using the dual-band Apple Airport Extreme. Limited configurability and wired ethernet connection that drops every few days to my MacBook Pro. Had to unplug and plug the ethernet cable back in to connect. Then came the D-Link n Dual Range. There was also a problem with the ethernet cable. Added an issue that caused my wireless devices to suddenly lose their secure connection and prompt me to re-enter the WPA key. It was VERY annoying. Now I got this Netgear with low expectations as it

RangeMax - Where? Oh you mean RangeMin.

I bought this wireless router to upgrade my existing FIOS wireless modem. The FIOS modem is at the other end of the house and I placed NetGear in the middle of the house. I get higher Wi-Fi levels from a FIOS modem than from NetGear. Sometimes 2-3 bars higher. I have two laptops and a bridge router that I used to measure levels. The bridge is also dual band and I had low levels on both bands. The signal on the 5GHz band was lower than the 2.4GHz band, although there is less interference on the…

N No Good Router - Networking Products

I've been a long time fan of Netgear products. Unfortunately, this may change with this product. The router was very easy to set up, as were the older models (I mentioned this was probably the fifth Netgear router I've bought, not to mention recommended to friends and family). The problem is with the N standard I think. It just doesn't work. In 5 GHz mode, n does not provide speed g. The router sat directly on top of the WNDA3100 adapter I was using and the speed was terrible, to say the least.

Good performance - networking products

I bought 2 Refab units to use as repeaters connected to a WNDR3300 in the home. Netgear's exemplary configuration as a repeater left a lot to be desired, so a little experimentation yielded excellent results. Also, unfortunately, there is no technical support from Netgear for recovery. The devices work very well as repeaters and so far I haven't had to reset or restart any after a month. The range extension is about 50-60 feet with a good 3 bar signal. Yahoo loads fast and even games on the…

Garbage! Electronics: Networking Products

Pros: This router was easy to set up and only took about 15 minutes to get up and running. When this router ran, it had excellent range and speed. Annoyance: AT LEAST twice a week the router would crash and require a reboot cycle which also involved rebooting the modem and took about 10 minutes. Light, seriously, that thing looks like a UFO. The central blue light is enough to illuminate our entire office. Towards the end of its life, the power button broke, leaving me stuck with this machine's

Works better than any other router I've had in a long time.

I bought this router in July 2008 and it has lasted longer than most wireless routers I have had with no hardware issues. After the v1.045 firmware update, it's the most stable wireless router I've ever owned. The router has no issues with DHCP, DNS, routing load, or hardware stability. I have two Tivos, a PS3, a Slingbox, a VoIP adapter, a Skype adapter, an HP MediaSmart WHS, and four laptops that are always connected to the internet. as well as many other IP devices (e.g. print servers and…

Combine multiple wireless routers in one device.

I have previously used 2 Linksys Wireless Routers - Linksys WRT55AG Dual Band A+G Wireless Access Point + Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port 10/100 Switch and Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster - since I have devices A, B, G and N in my environment, I was able to combine them into one device. I was a big Linksys fan for a while but recently bought an enterprise class switch from them that was failing and replaced it with a NetGear which was amazing. So when deciding on a…
