Highly recommended for gamers (but important points to note)

First, please note that I'm coming from a gamer's point of view, so I'll focus on these specific characteristics of this projector. the image quality is amazing, bright, crisp, balanced colors, great contrast (I've noticed the slightest chromatic aberration on the high-contrast edges of static UI elements, but only upon closer inspection. Normally it's completely unnoticed) - refresh rate is the real selling point to me. I always set the frame rate above the resolution. My main monitor (XR3501) is a 35-inch 1080p monitor and that's my precious 144Hz baby. So please note that I'm coming from the perspective of a gaming monitor and gaming TV. I've come to the conclusion that with my BenQ hardware (I have 3 BenQ monitors) CONS - If you're a resolution junkie and prioritize frame rate, you might want to look into a 1440p or 4k projector. Mine in picky opinion - The resolution is overpriced for gaming and hardly noticeable when you get lost in the game - The only other downside isn't really related to this projector in particular, but is aimed at projectors in general. You really need to consider the space in the ROOM you will need to set this up. You need a direct line of sight to the surface/wall/screen you are projecting onto - you need to plan your install location a reasonable distance from the wall to get a nice big picture. In my case, to get an image of about 80 inches (this one can project up to 150 inches, that's crazy!), I had to mount the projector about 8-10 feet from the wall I was projecting the image on It's not too loud, but you can definitely hear fan noise when you're close by. It really wasn't a problem when the music and game sound were on, so I wouldn't worry about that. However, it is elegantly designed, built for quality and durability, image quality, contrast ratio and refresh rate are recognized by gamers.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
