We eat on stools behind our kitchen counter so we need a chair so our son can sit on the same level with us (regular high chairs were too low). After careful research we initially bought a Chicco chair clamp (the Hummer wasn't on sale yet) but the handles were very long and it didn't fit our counter. We switched him to this chair and are still happy with it. The clamps are short and fit our luggage rack perfectly. Our son seems comfortable in it. I find the tray pointless, it kind of snaps into the clips but my son slides it out easily. We haven't tried taking it to a restaurant but can understand how difficult it would be to use (according to other reviews) as it was only intended to be used on certain types of worktops and without a tablecloth. Overall, we're happy with the chair and think it's the best option for eating over the counter. Update my son is now a year old so we have been using the chair for 6 months. This remains our main chair when we eat at the counter (where we eat most of the food) but we have taken a child's chair/high chair that attaches to the chair if we eat in our dining room or outside as both tables are there a lead. . We took it with us on vacation - we just folded it and put it in a suitcase and we take it to visit friends. It's easy to clean.
